2017-18 College Football Week 6 Betting Recap

2017-18 College Football Week 6 Betting Recap

Wow, what another great weekend of college football. Iowa State pulled off the biggest shocker, beating Oklahoma on their own turf 38-31. The Cyclones were +31 on the spread and 50/1 on the moneyline. It’s now the 7th straight season that the Sooners have lost a game outright as 10+ point favorites.

Road teams continue to crush it, going 33-22 ATS in Week 6. All road teams are now 224-153 ATS this season (+58 units).

The longest game in MAC history ended after 7 overtimes with Western Michigan (-7) beating Buffalo 71-68. The game tied an FBS record for most overtimes (7) and set a record for most points scored in FBS history (139).

Miami-FL (-2.5) beat FSU 24-20 on a touchdown with 6 seconds to go in the game and gave public bettors a nice win:

Florida (opened -6.5, closed +1.5) missed an extra point in the 3rd quarter to make it 17-16, and they lost by that final score. Sharp money was all over the Tigers all week, obviously, and most LSU backers covered.

Michigan St (+13) covered for the 10th straight time when facing Michigan, beating the Wolverines 14-10.

BYU is 1-5 SU to start the year and has already cashed for bettors on the Under 9.5 wins for the season. They’re also the lone 0-6 ATS team in the nation.

There are no 6-0 ATS teams heading into Week 7.

UAB (3-2 record) upset Louisiana Tech and has already gone Over their season win total of 2.5.

Purdue (3-2 record) beat Minnesota at home and has also gone Over their season win total of 2.5.

Bad Beat: Minnesota threw a pick-6 with just 10 seconds left to put the game OVER the total of 45. Purdue won 31-17.

SMU was an extremely trendy underdog (67% of bets) but they opened +5.5 and moved to +10. They were in position to cover for much of the game but lost 35-22, giving sharp money the win.
