The Jets Steal the Show in the Week 10 Opening Line Report

Public bettors have gotten plump and jolly the past couple of weeks after an abysmal start to the NFL season. One life lesson to remember, though, is that pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered. With the public loading up on the New York Jets, yes you read that right, the New York Jets, I reckon I smell a hog. Oink oink.

Jets @ Bucs

This past April, the Bucs were listed as an eight point favorite on CG Technology’s lookahead lines. Just last week, the Bucs were slated in at -4.5 at Westgate. Since then, the Jets won, Jameis Winston aggravated his shoulder injury, and Mike Evans was suspended. Sweet baby Jesus works in odd ways, but we have been given perhaps the greatest game of the year as a result of the aforementioned events.

Ryan Fitzpatrick starting for the Bucs…against the Jets…as a home dog! Dear lord, what a game this will be! I think I just threw up in my mouth a little…

Even better is the fact that everyone is on the Jets! Give Fitzpatrick some respect for Pete’s sake, the guy went to Harvard.

The last time the Jets received at least 75% of spread bets was December 19th 2015 against the Cowboys. They’ve only had four such games this decade and have surprisingly gone 3-0-1 ATS in them.

Texans @ Rams

This is another game in which the lookahead line was way off. Before the season, the Texans were a three point road favorite…and that was before we knew about DeShaun Watson. The Rams have obviously been a big surprise this season, but the line is now two entire touchdowns off of the lookahead line.

Despite the lofty line, bettors are steering clear of Tom “The Absolute” Savage. 84% of early bets have come in on the Rams, who equaled or surpassed their preseason win total of 6/5.5 through just nine weeks.

Cowboys at Falcons

We should have ourselves a heck of a game here, but with the way Atlanta has played this season, who knows? At 2-6 ATS, the Falcons are tied for the 2nd worst spread record this season behind the Bucs. Dallas is coming off an impressive win against the Chiefs and three straight covers.

With bettors seeing the recent trends and the game taking place during the 4PM slate, there is going to be an absolute public onslaught on the Cowboys.

Though bets and dollars are all over Dallas in the early going, the line has yet to fall off the key number of three. However, at -3 (-103), it would appear as if the line is trending towards 2.5 at Bookmaker. This will be a line to keep an eye on.
