2016 Olympic Handball Odds

2016 Olympic Handball Odds

The 2016 Summer Olympics are less than two months away and will take place in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. Though there is still plenty of time until the Olympics begin, many sportsbooks have released odds for several of the events, including handball. The handball competition will begin on August 6, and the women’s gold medal game will be held on Saturday, August 20 with the men’s final taking place the next day.

The competition features a group and knockout stage. For both the men’s and women’s side, there are two groups with six teams per group. The four best teams in each group move onto the knockout round.

In the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, the French men’s national team and the Norwegian women’s national team took home gold medals. This year both the French men and and Norwegian women are favored to repeat. On the men’s side, France sits at +130, followed by Denmark +250, and Germany +550. On the women’s side, Norway is +160, followed by Russia +300, and host nation Brazil +600.
