Rams-Seahawks Already Generating Sharp, Public Betting Action

Week 5 NFL spreads haven’t even been posted for 24 hours, but bettors, both professional and recreational, are already staking claim to a handful of games.

According to The Action Network’s public betting data, Rams-Seahawks is off to a fast start in terms of overall betting action, attracting 65% more tickets than the next-most heavily bet game (Dolphins-Bengals) on Sunday’s schedule.

Behind 77% of tickets and 94% of dollars wagered on the spread, public bettors are undoubtedly backing the Rams as 7-point road favorites against the Seahawks early.

These numbers aren’t all that surprising considering the combination of Los Angeles’ entertaining 38-31 win over Minnesota on Thursday Night Football and Seattle failing to cover against Arizona.

On the other hand, wiseguys have already grabbed Seattle at +7 according to Sports Insights’ Bet Signals.

Stop me if you’ve heard this before: Recreational bettors are reacting to recent results while sharps like getting a 2-2 team as a touchdown underdog at home.
