Oddsmakers Showing Jaguars Too Much Respect in Week 13?

With a 7-4 record, Jacksonville is currently on track to finish with the team’s first winning season since 2007. To refresh your memory, that was a Jaguars team lead by David Garrard and the 1-2 punch of Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew. A lot has changed since 2007, including the winning.

However, with the Jaguars occupying the fifth AFC playoff spot and still very much in contention for the AFC South crown, oddsmakers are giving Jacksonville respect that we haven’t seen in years.

The Jags opened as 8.5-point favorites at Pinnacle against the Colts, which is the first time they’ve been favored by more than eight points since they closed -9 against the Bills on Nov. 22, 2009.

Jaguars as greater than 8-point favorites, since 2003.

Since the start of 2009 season, Jacksonville has closed as the favorite in only 24.4% of their games. Which begs the question: Are you ready to give the Jaguars the same respect and lay the points against the Colts this weekend?
