Dallas was -5.5 on the lookahead line with Romo, but now a pick ’em with Romo out. Jay Hood of MGM Resorts noted that Romo is worth at least 6 to 6.5 points to the line considering the dropoff to Brandon Weeden so we could see the Cowboys close as dogs. Both the Cowboys and Falcons have been impressive so far and this is the only game between 2-0 teams this week.

Chicago was +9 on the lookahead line even with Cutler, but should now be double-digit dogs with Jimmy Clausen taking the helm. Both teams are 0-2 so far with a loss to the Packers.

San Francisco obviously had a terrible offseason with injuries, discipline and retirements and will likely vary the most from their lookahead lines. Add in the fact that Arizona has excelled so far and we see a difference from -2.5 to -6.5.

Denver has pulled out two victories against good teams despite not playing its best. Even if Stafford is expected to play for Detroit, we’d expect the Broncos to open as a small road favorite.

Pittsburgh is the public darling of the week so far after their blowout home win in Week 2, and are seeing 84% of early spread bets at St. Louis. This game has seen the most bets so far and the lopsided betting has pushed the Steelers from +1 to -1.
