NFL Week 13 Opening Line Report

NFL Week 13 Opening Line Report

We’re through 12 weeks into the NFL season and are left with one undefeated team, the Carolina Panthers at 11-0. They’re currently listed at +400 to go the entire regular season undefeated at 5Dimes, and this week they take on New Orleans on the road as 7-point favorites.

Below we’ve taken a look at lookahead lines from CG Technology back in April and compared them to opening and current odds at Pinnacle:

Pinnacle opened Thursday night’s game in Detroit earlier than others and it looks like bettors were ready to pounce on the Lions, as they quickly moved from +5.5 to +3 vs. Green Bay. The Packers haven’t looked great in recent weeks and lost at home to the Lions during that span, while Detroit is riding a high after their big Thanksgiving Day win. It’s no surprise that 2/3 of bets are still coming in on Green Bay despite the line move, and we’d expect the public to keep betting the Packers to turn things around.

A bit of a surprising line is the Seahawks -1 at the Vikings. Sure Seattle is still one of the better teams in the league but Minnesota has gone 9-2 ATS this season and coming off a nice road win in Atlanta. We would have expected Minnesota to be a small home favorite despite oddsmakers listing Seattle -4.5 back in April.

Other discrepancies include: Arizona (were +1, now -5.5), Chicago (were +1, now -7), Carolina (were +2, now -7), Jets (were +5, now -1), and Washington (were +3, now -4).

Lines will be moving throughout the week as the market changes so be sure to keep up at our Free Live Odds page.
