Money on Rams in Colorado Showdown at Mile High

Friday’s college football slate is headlined by the Colorado State Rams vs. the Colorado Buffaloes at the Broncos’ home field at Mile High. Last season, there were three teams with at least 10 wins against the spread and these were two of them.

The Rams already shook off their summer rust over the weekend by downing Oregon State 58-27 in a game in which they were favored by 3.5 points. Their QB Nick Stevens took a huge hit, but was able to return shortly after.

The Buffaloes have yet to be tested this season and it is unclear just how much they’ll miss their star QB Sefo Liufau.

A couple of weeks ago, Colorado opened between -7 and -8 around the market. However, since the Rams handily took care of Oregon State on Saturday, the line has been dropping. Since yesterday, the Rams have gone from +6.5 to +5 at Bookmaker.

Spread bets are essentially split, but money is heavily favoring State.

Historically, favorites of a touchdown or less have done pretty well in regular season neutral site games (50-40 ATS). It appears that sharp bettors are betting against that trend at this point.

If these betting percentages hold up to some extent for the rest of the week, we may very well see the line continue to move towards a field goal rather than a touchdown.
