Is the Cover King Heading to FSU?

FSU recently parted ways with head coach Jimbo Fisher and he’s already moved on to a mega 10-year deal for $75 million with Texas A&M. The Seminoles (6-6) are now playing under interim HC Odell Haggins and just qualified for a bowl game by beating UL Monroe 42-10 on Saturday. It’s not the season they were envisioning, but they did crush Florida in their rivalry game and covered their final two games.

Even better things may be coming to the Seminoles soon as Willie Taggart is now the -300 favorite to take over at Florida State. Here’s a look at the most recent odds via BetOnline and Bovada:

Taggart has been a cover king, going 59-36-1 ATS overall which is the best among active head coaches. He’s been even more impressive for contrarian bettors in his time at Western Kentucky, South Florida and Oregon (where he’s still currently coaching), something that we love to see at The Action Network. Here’s a look at his ATS records when his teams receive less than half the public support:

FSU could use some help winning and covering games as they’ve gone just 6-6 SU and 2-7-2 ATS this season. Do you think Taggart is the right fit down in Tallahassee? At -350 is he worth betting, or is there value on someone else on the list?
