Buy-Back on Brett Hundley and the Packers

Buy-Back on Brett Hundley and the Packers

Last week, the Westgate early line for the Saints-Packers game was GB -6.5. But…Anthony Barr happened.

With the Saints playing well as of late and the Packers not looking good after Aaron Rodgers left the game, this game opened with the Saints between -3.5 and -5.5 across the market. Though Rodgers is worth 6-7 points to the spread in most cases, this perfect shit-storm for the Packers resulted in essentially a 10 point swing.

The percentage of bets was never really as lopsided as I expected, with New Orleans getting around 60% of bets for the majority of the week. However, the percentage of dollars (represented by the green line) on the Packers has slowly been rising over the past few days.

This line topped out at 6.5 for a good portion of Monday evening, but has since been moving towards the Packers. Just a short time ago, the line jumped from 5.5 to 4.5 for the first time at Bookmaker.

This game is currently the most heavily bet on the Sunday slate so bettors clearly aren’t afraid of the unknown aspect Brett Hundley brings to the table.
