Sportsbooks Will Need Broncos Over Patriots in a Big Way Week 10
The Broncos won’t have much time to recover from a listless performance against Philly: Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots come to town — off a bye no less.
Last week, the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook’s lookahead lines listed the Patriots as 4.5-point favorites. Not surprisingly, market-setting offshore sportsbooks opened New England at -7.5 for Week 10.
The Patriots, already a favorite team of public bettors, will get an even bigger boost playing on Sunday Night Football. You can be sure the public will pound New England in straight bets and throw them in plenty of parlays and teasers.
All of this is setting up a major decision for the sportsbooks come Sunday night.
It’ll be interesting to track whether sportsbooks will inflate the line to entice sharp Denver action and minimize risk.
