Odds on Next Manager of the New York Yankees

In the midst of the 2017 World Series, the New York Yankees announced that manager Joe Girardi would not be returning for his 11th season in 2018. He just finished the final year of a 4-year contract and the Yankees were just a win away from the World Series this year, losing to Houston in Game 7 of the ALCS. Girardi’s initial response following the news: “With a heavy heart, I come to you because the Yankees have decided not to bring me back.”

The market was quick to offer odds on next permanent manager of the New York Yankees in 2018, and Rob Thomson (NYY bench coach) and Al Pedrique (Scranton/Wilkes-Barre manager) are the early favorites via BetOnline.

Are there any guys on this list you think are worth betting? Will people undoubtedly bet on A-Rod at 100/1 odds and David Ortiz at 500/1 odds?
