Following Boston’s loss to Houston in the ALDS, John Farrell was dismissed as manager. He spent 5 seasons leading the Red Sox including a World Series win in 2013 and back-to-back division titles. Boston’s president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski was quoted saying “You weigh a lot of different things to come into play. You watch day in, day out over a season. You come up with a decision based upon that.”
