Indians Win Streak Not Enough To Catch Dodgers: Updated World Series Odds

Indians Win Streak Not Enough To Catch Dodgers: Updated World Series Odds

The past few weeks in baseball have been about streaks. The Indians can’t lose even if they tried to, as they go for their 19th straight win tonight (they’ll also be higher than -300 favorites the next two games). They obviously have plenty of talent, but their World Series odds haven’t improved as much as one would think. At +450, they are still a significant margin behind the Dodgers and only a tad better than the Astros (+475). Of course, there is one question that will be asked for the rest of the year unless they can win the World Series: Did they peak too early?

Meanwhile, as good as the Dodgers were for the first four and a half months of the season, that’s how as bad they’ve been now. They have lost ten straight games and 15 of their past 16. The Diamondbacks had won 13 in a row, but the only thing they’ve accomplished is locking in home-field advantage for the wildcard game. Their odds for the World Series and pennant have certainly improved over the past month, but no team or futures bettor can feel comfortable when the wildcard game is in play.

No team can seem to distance themselves from the pack for the second wild card spot in each league so plenty of teams can be had from 33/1 to 100/1 if you expect some October madness to take place.
