G&J Update vs SportsInsights

GJ Update was purchased by Don Best Sports  in the spring of 2010.  It believed by most sports betting industry insiders that Show Me The Odds.com is really GJUpdate software backed by Don Best Sports betting odds feeds.

G&J Update has been in existence for a few years and is a popular source for sports betting information. GJ Update claims to have “the best screen in the business” and while it is certainly a nice enough screen, it is functionally identical to every other live odds service out there. Curiously enough, they only have one small screen shot of their “best screen in the business” and no picture that can be seen in full size.

Like all of our competitors, GJ Update’s live odds are only available through a software download. They offer no customer support contact links in their software, while Sports Insights puts our customers a button-click away from live online support and we  include easy-to-find links to our support phone number and e-mail address. GJ Update hides their contact information on their website (www.gjupdate.com), placing it so far down on the page that you won’t find it before scrolling down the screen. Also, since their live odds are software based, you are unlikely to spend any time on their barebones website.

Their live odds product is fine and, as mentioned above, their screen is nice enough to get the job done. However, they also advertise “the best (injury service) in the business, no one else come close!” We wholly disagree with this egregious statement. Not only does Sports Insights “come close”, our service is better than G&J’s on many levels. We offer a full injury report page; they do not. We have player priorities; they do not. We offer injury alerts in e-mail and text message form; they do not. Basically, Sports Insights is better on every level than G&J when it comes not only to injuries, but our services as a whole.

You don’t have to take our word for it. In fact, the well-known and unbiased About.com has rated sportsinsights.com as a “5 Star” sports information site.
