Where’s the Sharp Money Going at UFC 214?

UFC 214 takes place on Saturday, July 29th at Honda Center in Anaheim, CA. The headline fight is a rematch between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier but there are plenty of other fights to bet on.

Using our Live Odds page, there’s been plenty of sharp action on Drew Dober, who opened -253 but is now up to -327. Dober is getting just 27% of betting tickets, indicating that the public bets are on Josh Burkman but the bigger bets and money have come in on Dober. The screenshot below displays the line graph for Drew Dober from our Live Odds page, showing Dober becoming a bigger favorite despite attracting fewer tickets.

At CG Technology, VP Matthew Holt is reporting that their biggest liabilities in order are: Jon Jones, Tyron Woodley, Robbie Lawler, Volkan Oezdemir and Tonya Evinger. Another Nevada sportsbook, William Hill US, is reporting more than 60% of money on Jon Jones despite getting just 28% of tickets. This is a great indicator of bigger tickets coming in on Jon Jones.

Using our market data, we are also seeing some sharp action on Jon Jones in the marquee fight against Daniel Cormier. Jones opened -250 at CRIS but is up to -273 while getting just over half of moneyline tickets around the market. If you like Jones to win, you can still grab him as low as -251 at Pinnacle right now. Here’s a glimpse of our Live Odds page for some of the major UFC 214 fights on Saturday night:

We’re still a couple days away from the fights so you’ll likely see those ticket counts reach well over 5,000 bets. In addition to ticket counts, our Premium and Pro members can track ticket percentages, money percentages, line movement and more for all sports.

The biggest liability at CG Technology on totals/rounds for UFC 214 is Ortega/Moicano Over 2.5 rounds. Since opening, we’ve seen the juice on the Over move from -195 to -275. We’ve tracked 61% of bets and 77% of money on the Over since it opened. Over/Unders are a great alternative when betting fights, especially with big moneyline favorites.
