Sports Marketplace – MLB Edition

David Ortiz broke a fifth-inning deadlock in last week’s AL East tilt, slamming James Shields’ offering over the fence and providing the offensive ignition Boston needed.  The injury-riddled Red Sox went on to defeat the Rays 8-5 and send Marketwatch into a slightly deeper hole as we approach the All-Star Break.

Sports MarketWatch – MLB Games to Watch

Milwaukee Brewers +117 over San Francisco Giants

Tonight’s match-up features a couple of National League teams on their heels.  The Giants have lost seven of their last ten games, while the Brewers have dropped three in a row.  San Francisco’s ace, Tim Lincecum, has shown a bit of mortality recently, losing two straight starts against the Red Sox and Rockies and surrendering 8 earned runs in only 9 innings.  Milwaukee is desperate to light up the scoreboard themselves, having scored just 1 run in each of their last three games.  The already light-hitting San Francisco offense will also likely be without both Buster Posey and Juan Uribe tonight due to injury.

San Francisco opened as -145 road favorites at Olympic, and despite having received over 80% of moneyline, runline and parlay bets, the line has dropped significantly across the board.  It now rests at -125 at Olympic, and the reverse line movement has not gone unnoticed by Sports Insights Betting Systems.  Two of our strongest Steam Moves have come through on Milwaukee, specifically from Pinnacle (+7.83 Units Won) and from our best performer 5Dimes (+21.96 Units!).
