Markewatch had another perfect day Tuesday, pushing our season total to +19.7 units. Kansas City jumped all over Detroit starter Jared Washburn, scoring four runs in the top of the first inning en route to an 11-1 victory. David DeJesus, Miguel Olivo and Albert Callaspo powered the Royals’ offense, driving in 10 runs combined. In our second game, Baltimore, and Marketwatch, rode the hot bat of rookie catcher Matt Wieters, who went 3 for 4 with five RBI in the 10-5 win over the slumping Rays.

Sports MarketWatch – MLB Games to Watch

Texas Rangers +110 over Los Angeles Angels

Texas, losers of four straight and six of their last ten, has seen its Wild Card hopes slowly fade away. Tonight the Rangers send rookie Tommy Hunter (8-3, 3.23 ERA) to the mound. Hunter gave up only one run in a complete game victory over Seattle in his last start. Scott Kazmir (8-8, 5.32 ERA) will get the ball for the Angels as they try to shake off a controversial series in Boston. Kazmir has been a flat-out stud since being acquired from Tampa Bay, posting a 1.86 ERA in three starts for the Angels.

Los Angeles opened as a -115 favorite at Olympic and is receiving solid public backing. The Angels are currently garnering 53% of runline bets, 66% of moneyline bets and 63% of parlay bets, pushing them to a -120 favorite. Marketwatch likes home underdogs receiving plus-money, so we’ll go against the public and take Texas in our first game.

Texas Rangers +110 (SIA)

Detroit Tigers +131 over Minnesota Twins

After losing seven of their last ten games, the Tigers have seen their lead in the AL Central shrink to four games ahead of streaking Minnesota. The Twins, who lost Justin Morneau for the season with a stress fracture in his back, have the opportunity to pull even closer to the Tigers tonight. Detroit will look to Rick Porcello, who is 13-8 with a 4.21 ERA, to stop the bleeding and lead them in the opener of this crucial four-game series. The Twins will counter with Brian Duensing, who is 3-1 with a 3.53 ERA this season. Duensing spent most of the year in the bullpen, but is 3-0 with a 1.74 ERA since becoming a starter.

Minnesota opened as a -135 favorite at Olympic and the line has grown to -140. The public is behind the favorite, with 65% of runline bets, 65% of moneyline bets and 58% of parlay bets backing the Twins. A Steam Move at Pinnacle (+34 units on the season) was triggered on Detroit, so we’re taking the Tigers to round out tonight’s games.
