Sports Marketplace – MLB Edition

Recapping Last Week

Marketwatch rebounded from our first loss of the season with another win last week. Atlanta’s pitching staff was lights-out, allowing only two hits in its 5-0 victory over Philadelphia.

Atlanta Braves -103 over Philadelphia Phillies

For the second straight week, Marketwatch has found value with Atlanta as it takes on division-rival Philadelphia. Tonight’s game features a stellar pitching matchup, as the Phillies send Cole Hamels (4-2, 2.83 ERA) to the mound against the Braves’ Brandon Beachy (1-1, 2.98 ERA).

Philadelphia opened as a -105 favorite at Olympic and, once again, is getting pounded by the public. Seventy-five percent of moneyline bets have fallen on the Phillies, yet the line has returned to -105, suggesting sharp money is taking the Braves.

After analyzing the Betting Trends data, we have circled this game as a prime MLB Square Play candidate, a Betting System that is +19.9 units this season.
