Washington Nationals +113 over New York Mets

In this week’s matchup, the visiting Mets send right-hander Dillon Gee (9-3, 3.75 ERA) to the mound in the opening game of a three game set in D.C. Despite an overall impressive first-year in the rotation, Gee has been trending downward lately. In his first nine starts this season, Gee went 7-0 with a 2.65 ERA. However, in his last seven starts, Gee has gone 2-3 with a 4.89 ERA.

The Nationals counter with right-handed veteran Chien-Ming Wang. The former Yankee has not pitched in a Major League game since July 4, 2009, but possesses an impressive 55-26 career record. Wang put together two consecutive 19-win seasons with New York in 2006 and 2007.

The Mets opened as -120 favorites at Olympic and are currently receiving 82% of moneyline bets. Despite being favored, the line has dropped from -120 to -118, indicating sharp money has taken the Nationals.

The lopsided betting percentages make this game a candidate to be one of today’s MLB Square Plays.

In addition, the Nationals have lost five consecutive games while the Mets have won four in a row.

Something’s gotta give.
