Recapping NCAA Tournament Action

The Final Four saw some interesting games that are setting up a great National Championship Game. Memphis and Kansas both won their games by relatively large margins. Memphis beat UCLA more easily than expected – and showed the nation that they truly are deserving of a shot at the National Title.

In the other Final Four match-up, Kansas went ahead of North Carolina as if it were a #1 seed versus a #16 seed. The middle of the game saw NC cut the near 30-point lead to just 4 – but Kansas pulled away at the end. Tonight’s Championship Game should be a great one! Enjoy!

Kansas +2.5 over Memphis University

The betting public loves Memphis. Memphis has been a big story most of the season. They’ve gathered headlines all season with their near-undefeated record. They are a relatively small program – as opposed to all of the “big-name” programs. Even though Memphis is a #1 seed, most people still see Memphis as a “Cinderella” story; as a David and Goliath story. AND to top it off, the public sees this “Cinderella-small-program- team” as a stronger team than Kansas. As a result, “Joe Public” is pounding Memphis at the rate of more than 70%.

The line opened at Kansas -1.5 but quickly moved to Memphis as the favorite. The public’s continual betting on Memphis has driven the line a full four points! Currently, the line is Memphis -2, but SIA even has Memphis -2.5. We’ll take the 4 point value and “bet against the public.”
