Missouri vs Oregon

While much of the attention in Eugene, Oregon has been on the football team this season, we will take a look at the basketball team for value to kick off the NCAA basketball Marketwatch season.  The Oregon Ducks are 4-2 this season with their most recent game being a 27-point blowout loss to the top-ranked Duke Blue Devils.  The Ducks are led by senior forward Joevan Catron who is averaging 18.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.  Catron and his teammates are hosting the eighth-ranked Missouri Tigers who are coming off a heartbreaking overtime loss to Georgetown after a Hoyas three-pointer tied the game with less than a second left in regulation.  The Missouri team likes to play at a frantic pace, playing full-court defense, and trying to force the other team into mistakes to get some easy transition buckets.

The results of previous games will often influence public perception, which seems to be the case for this matchup.  Missouri is currently getting a whopping 85 percent of all spread wagers despite having to travel across the country for their first road game of the season.  Despite the lopsided betting action, there has not been a lot of line movement.  This indicates some “sharp money” on the Ducks which includes a Grande (8-1 +6.27 units won) Smart Money play on Oregon.  With the public backing Mizzou, we will take the home dog as the contrarian play tonight.  Make sure to shop around to get the extra half point.
