Sports Marketplace – NBA Edition
Recapping Last Week
Marketwatch took a punch to the gut last week when we took the Phoenix Suns (-2) to beat the Knicks. Amare Stoudemire made his return to Phoenix, and helped the Knicks blowout the Suns by 25 points.

Milwauke Bucks (+4) over San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs have had an impressive start to the NBA season, posting a league-best 32-6 record.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks are 14-21 this season, although they do have a respectable 8-8 record at home. Brandon Jennings is still out with a foot injury, but the Bucks’ center Andrew Bogut is expected to play after suffering from an illness earlier this week.
Milwaukee opened as a 3.5-point dog at CRIS and is only receiving 12% of spread bets. Even though the vast majority of the bets have come down on the Spurs, the line at CRIS has dropped half a point towards the Bucks. This reverse-line movement has triggered two Smart Money Plays and a CRIS Steam Move (133-109 +11.9 units) on the home dog.
This is a classic example of buying a team at a low, and selling a team at a high, in regards to how the public perceives both teams. The low betting percentage on the Bucks could also make them an NBA Square Play, which are currently 46-30 (+12.5 units) on the season.
