Trends + Tools Midseason

With the NBA
enjoying its mid-season All-Star Break, we wanted to look at
various betting tools that SportsInsights has available to its members.
After a hot-start, the NBA Square plays cooled off and have been
about break-even. However, some of SIs' more advanced
betting tools, available to Premium Pro Members have shown good results.
Here's a mid-season report card.

Against the Public and Square Plays Betting Trends
Before the
season started, SportsInsights published an
article on how Betting Against the Public works in the NBA.
Square Plays can also be used as a proxy for fading the
public. So far, this season, NBA Square Plays have been a
flat to slightly down. The NBA Square
Plays were hot to start the season -- but cooled off and are
running right at around 50%. We believe that the long-term
historical performance of "Betting Against the Public" will hold
up -- and that this is an example of varied performance during a
relatively short time period.

talk about additional statistics in the sports marketplace -- as
well as additional betting tools offered by SportsInsights. Here,
we want to highlight SIs' Smart Money Betting Analysis.
Smart Money Methods

Smart Money analysis has shown strong
NBA results that make a lot of sense.
SIs' Smart Money feature breaks down Smart Money plays by
sportsbook. The interesting thing is that "Smart Money"
plays triggered by the top two performing sportsbooks are
"relatively sharp" books. That is, if you played the
"Smart Money Plays" triggered by Pinnacle and CRIS -- you
would have achieved +17 units on 54% during the first half of
the season.
Many of our
