Colorado Rockies +115 over Los Angeles Dodgers

This week, we focus on an under-the-radar matchup between two NL West rivals; the Dodgers and Rockies. While neither clubs are in the postseason picture, they are only separated by two games in the standings (COL 63-68, LA 60-69), which should make for a highly competitive ballgame.

In addition, both teams enter the series opener at Chavez Ravine having played good baseball of late, with the Dodgers winners of three in a row and the Rockies five in a row.

On the mound, Colorado will send out Esmil Rogers (6-2, 6.00 ERA), while Los Angeles will counter with veteran lefty Ted Lilly (7-13, 4.58 ERA). The two pitchers faced each other in their last starts, with Rogers (6 IP, 4 ER, 5 K’s) leading the Rockies to a 7-6 extra-inning victory over Lilly (4.2 IP, 3 ER, 3 BB) and the Dodgers on August 20.

The Dodgers opened as -132 favorites at Pinnacle, and Sports Insights’ MLB Betting Trends are showing that 53% of moneyline wagers and 65% of spread wagers are taking Los Angeles. Also, Sports Insights’ MLB Betting Systems tracked a Steam Move by Cata/VegasVic (28-20, +6.89 units won) on Colorado.

Currently, the Pinnacle line has softened on LA from -132 favorites at the open to -120 as of Friday (8/26) afternoon, meaning the public is less comfortable with taking the Dodgers now than they were at the start.

This information, along with the Betting System Play on Colorado reaffirms our selection of taking the Rockies against Lilly and the Dodgers.
