Atlanta Braves +100 over Philadelphia Phillies

As expected, the Phillies have parlayed a big offseason into early success in 2011. Led by an All-Star starting rotation, Philadelphia has won five of their first six games and send prized free-agent acquistion Cliff Lee to the mound tonight against division-rival Atlanta.

The Braves will counter with an ace of their own, Tim Hudson, who gave up one earned run, in seven innings, during Atlanta’s 11-2 win against the Nationals Sunday.

Philadelphia opened as a -136 favorite at CRIS and, according to Sports Insights’ Betting Trends data, is currently receiving 82% of moneyline wagers. Despite the constant public pounding, the line has actually moved in the opposite direction of the betting percentages down to -120, indicating sharp money is falling on the Braves.

This reverse-line movement has triggered a Smart Money Play at Carib (+6.54 units), convincing us to fade a significant public favorite and take the Braves.
