Welcome to the 2010 edition of
MLB Sports Marketwatch, where the Team at SportsInsights gives sports fans
unprecedented insight into the sports marketplace. If you ever wanted to know

This week, we'd like to highlight a special new release from the braintrust
here at Sports Insights. Founder and President Daniel Fabrizio, in conjunction
with long-time contributors Joseph Hunter and Carlton Chin, have published a
book entitled Sports Investing: Profiting from Point Spreads. It
offers tested tactics and strategies to turn your ventures in the sports betting
marketplace from a gut-feel gamble to an intelligent investment approach. Click

Randy Wolf apparently
took offense to last week's recitation of his poor 2010 statistics, throwing
seven innings of shutout baseball against the anemic Astros. Both Rickie Weeks
and Ryan Braun homered for the Brew-Crew, and their production made for a tidy
Marketwatch loss and Milwaukee victory, 6-1.

Colorado
Rockies +117 over San Francisco Giants
The NL West was front and center yesterday, as anyone
who stayed home on Memorial Day was treated with one of the best pitching
matchups of the early season, Ubaldo Jimenez versus Tim Lincecum. Jimenez threw
yet another shutout, lowering his ERA to an astounding 0.78 on the season and
taking the 4-0 victory. He'll be followed Tuesday by Jason Hammel, whose
strikeout rate has increased significantly since returning from a brief stint on
the DL with a groin injury. He fanned 8 and gave up only 2 runs last time out
against the Diamondbacks, a much stronger offensive team than the Giants he'll
face tonight.
But the Public is only
paying attention to his counterpart, Barry Zito, whose resurgent control and
killer curveball had him looking elite to begin the season, giving up only 7
earned runs in his first 42 innings. The Giants opened as -145 favorites at
CRIS, and Joe Casual Bettor is taking them heavily, to the tune of 82% of
moneyline bets and 79% of parlay wagers. Yet the line has dropped across the
board, down to -133 at CRIS and much lower at a number of other books. A good
Steam Move has come in on the Rockies from Bet Jamaica (+3.4 Units Won) to
explain the reverse line movement, and we like the regression Zito has recently
shown as well, surrendering 12 total runs in his last 3 outings against the
light-hitting Nationals, Athletics and Astros. Go grab the juiciest line you
can find on Colorado. Tonight's going to be a glimpse at Rocktober.
