different reasons. A sharp sportsbook doesn’t wait around for Las
Vegas to come out with a line for a game. They’ll either
originate their own line or be one of the very first to get
their number out there for wagering.
Sharp online sportsbooks also deal with sharp players. A sharp player, or wiseguy, is a bettor that doesn’t follow the public money. The wiseguy doesn’t just bet the best teams no matter what the
number. They’ll look for line value and then jump on it. For the
most part, sharp sportsbooks will also take higher bet limits. Some of
the offshore sportsbooks take upwards of $30,000 on one bet alone.
