Sports Insights President Daniel Fabrizio Featured on ESPN’s Behind the Bets Blog

ESPN & SportsInsights Review NFL Week 9 Line Moves.

BEVERLY, MA – November 4, 2010 – ESPN’s Chad Millman, who covers sports betting, interviewed SportsInsights President, Dan Fabrizio, about NFL Week 9 line moves. The article analyzed five NFL match-ups using SportsInsights’ philosophy of studying the sports marketplace in search of contrarian value.

In addition to the weeks games, Chad Millman also wrote:

“… I enlisted the help of Dan Fabrizio. He has built his very smart website, Sportsinsights.com, on the premise of contrarian plays. I’ve written about Dan and his site before. It tracks the number of bets coming in on each game at several of the top online and offshore sports books in the world, and breaks them down into percentages.”

In the article, Sports Insights president Daniel Fabrizio expands on the contrarian betting strategy pointing out:

“It’s the 80-20 rule. When 80 percent of the bets are on a road favorite, bet against that side,” he says. “Since 2003 that formula has hit at a 56-percent clip. In fact, when you look at the data, underdogs tend to win 51 percent of the time. While that won’t make you money, it does show that the market is skewed towards favorites. So you need to find value in the dogs.”
