We’ll take our weekly look at some of the games our analysts circled for the weekend. In particular, we’ll scan the boards and look at some college football games — as well as the World Series.
In college football action, at the time of this writing:
- The Michigan St. – Wisconsin game is seeing the heaviest betting action of the day. And, it is a late game — so this is certainly a game that is capturing heavy public interest. Betting is one-sided, but not extremely lopsided, so please visit Sports Insights to study the latest betting trends, and percentages — and to see if a Square Play or Best Bet is triggered.
- The Duke-Wake Forest game is currently the most lopsided-bet game of the day. Sports fans certainly don’t respect Duke football, but the lack of respect pushed the spread right through a key number from Duke +2 to Duke +3.5 (there are also some +4′s currently).
In the baseball playoff game, a fairly hefty 63% of moneyline bets is taking the heavily favored Rangers in Game 3 of the World Series. We’re torn on this game, because there is some line value on the Cardinals. However, we like the angles and results of the “Who Will Win” authors — who have gone 25-14 in their predictions. Note that this is not ATS, but because their angles and trends sometimes pick underdogs, there is value here. Their factors favor the Texas Rangers — so the betting trends are a “push.”
Stay tuned, also, for the weekly publication of our popular NFL Marketwatch column. It will be released shortly and features the most lopsided-bet game of the week — AND the heaviest-bet game of the week.
