NFL Opening Line Report – Week 12

Every Monday, we take a look at the opening lines for next week’s NFL games:

Team Betting % Open Current Notes
Packers 67% -6.5 -6.0 This NFC North showdown is already the most heavily bet Thanksgiving Day game. With the sportsbooks adjusting their lines to take a pivotal half-point away from the home dog Lions, nearly seven out of ten spread bets are going with Aaron Rodgers and 10-0 Packers to win by seven points or more and keep their undefeated record intact.
Lions 33% 6.5 6.0
Dolphins 47% 7.0 6.5 Good value here, with the betting public relatively undecided as to who to take. With the sportsbooks adjusting their lines to take a half-point away from Matt Moore and the ‘Fins, spread bettors are giving the slight edge to Dallas winning by seven or more and covering at home.
Cowboys 53% -7.0 -6.5
49ers 64% 3.5 3.0 Even with the sportsbooks adjusting their lines to take a big half-point away from the road dog 49ers, more than six out of ten spread bets are sticking with 9-1 San Francisco to either win straight up or lose by less than two on the road in the first ever Harbaugh Bowl.
Ravens 36% -3.5 -3.0
Bills 41% 8.5 8.0 Due in large part to the fact that both teams are mired in multiple-game losing streaks, the betting public is somewhat undecided as to who to take in this AFC East showdown. However, with the sportsbooks taking a half-point away from the fast-sinking Bills, nearly six out of ten spread bets are going with the Jets to cover at home.
Jets 59% -8.5 -8.0
Browns 26% 7.5 7.5 No line movement thus far for this AFC North grudge match. As a result, nearly three out of four spread bets are sticking with the 6-4 Bengals to get it done and win by at least eight points at home.
Bengals 74% -7.5 -7.5
Texans 89% -3.5 -3.0 In one of the most lopsided bet games of the week, nearly nine out of ten spread bets are going with Matt Leinart and the 7-3 Texans to cover on the road, especially after the sportbooks took a valuable half-point away from the home dog Jags.
Jaguars 11% 3.5 3.0
Panthers 90% -4.0 -4.0 Another hugely lopsided game here. With the sportsbooks keeping their lines static, the betting public remains confident in Cam Newton and the Panthers winning by five points or more on the road against the winless Colts.
Colts 10% 4.0 4.0
Buccaneers 67% 3.5 3.0 Despite the sportsbooks adjusting their lines to take an important half-point away from the road dog Bucs, nearly seven out of ten spread bets are sticking with Tampa Bay to win by four or more against the maddeningly inconsistent Titans.
Titans 33% -3.5 -3.0
Bears 55% -1.5 3.5 With the news that Jay Cutler is likely lost for the season with a broken thumb, the sportsbooks have adjusted their lines in a dramatic way for this matchup, resulting in a five point swing in favor of the road dog Bears. As of now, the betting public is giving the slight edge to Chicago.
Raiders 45% 1.5 -3.5
Redskins 46% 4.5 4.0 As a result of the sportsbooks adjusting their lines to take a pivotal half-point away from the road dog ‘Skins, the betting public is giving the slight edge to Seattle winning by at least five points at home.
Seahawks 54% -4.5 -4.0
Broncos 49% 7.0 6.5 With the sportsbooks adjusting their lines to take a half-point away from road dog Denver, the betting public is just slightly in favor of San Diego winning by seven points at home against Tim Tebow and the Broncos.
Chargers 51% -7.0 -6.5
Giants 17% 6.5 6.5 No line movement thus far for this Monday night clash. As a result, just over eight out of ten spread bets are sticking with the Saints to cover and win by at least seven points in front of their home crowd.
Saints 83% -6.5 -6.5
Vikings N/A N/A N/A With the status of star RB Adrian Peterson very much up in the air, the sportsbooks have yet to release their lines for this NFC matchup.
Falcons N/A N/A N/A
