NCAA Football Opening Line Report – Week 14

Every Tuesday, we take a look at the early line movement and college football betting trends for the 15 most heavily bet games, in terms of the number of total bets.

UCLA 22% 31.5 30.5 Even though the sportsbooks adjusted their lines to give road dog UCLA an additional point, nearly eight out of ten spread wagers remain in favor of  the 9th ranked Ducks blowing out the 6-6 Bruins to win the Pac-12 championship.

Connecticut 39% 10.0 9.5 Despite the sportsbooks giving road dog UCONN an additional half point, the betting public remains slightly in favor of the 8-3 Bearcats picking up at least an 11-point victory in front of their home crowd.

Syracuse 35% 10.5 12.0 With the sportsbooks adjusting their lines to take away an additional 1.5 points away from road dog ‘Cuse, nearly seven out of ten spread bets are going with the 5-6 Panthers to win by 11-points or more at Heinz Field.

Iowa State 21% 10.5 11.5 As a result of the sportsbooks taking a pivotal point away from road dog Iowa State, the vast majority of the betting public is pounding the 11th ranked Wildcats to win by at least 11-points at Bill Synder Stadium.

Wyoming 86% -5.5 -6.0 In one of the most lopsided bet games of the week, nearly nine out of ten spread bets are going with the 7-4 Cowboys to cover on the road, especially after the sportsbooks adjusted their lines to take a valuable half-point away from the home dog Rams.

Oklahoma 52% 3.5 3.0 Great value here, with the betting public nearly split down the middle as to who to take in this Big 12 showdown. With the sportsbooks adjusting their lines to give the road dog Sooners an additional half-point, the public is giving the slight edge to #10 Oklahoma keeping it close against the 3rd ranked Cowboys.

Texas 23% 2.5 2.0 Even with the sportsbooks giving road dog Texas an additional half-point, nearly eight out of ten spread bets remain committed to Robert Griffin III and #17 Baylor picking up at least a three-point win in front of their home crowd.

Georgia 20% 13.5 11.0 The public fascination with #1 LSU continues, with eight out of ten spread wagers picking Les Miles’ team to cover at home in this SEC championship game (even though the sportsbooks adjusted their lines to give #14 Georgia an additional 2.5 points).

Virginia Tech 71% -7.0 -7.0 No line movement thus far for this ACC championship game. As a result, slightly more than seven out of ten spread wagers remain committed to #5 Virginia Tech winning by at least eight points against the 20th ranked Tigers.

Michigan State 39% 9.0 9.5 With the sportsbooks adjusting their lines to take a half-point away from road dog Michigan State, slightly more than six out of ten spread bets are going with #15 Wisconsin to win by double-digits and secure the Big Ten championship trophy.
Wisconsin 61% -9.0 -9.5
Idaho 37% 20.0 19.5 Despite the sportsbooks giving road dog Idaho an additional half-point, slightly more than six out of ten spread wagers remain in favor of the 6-5 Wolf Pack beating the 2-9 Vandals by at least 21-points in front of their home crowd.
Nevada 63% -20.0 -19.5
New Mexico 54% 48.5 49.0 The 7th ranked Broncos may no longer have a shot at the national title game, but they remain huge favorites for this matchup, which is by far and away the largest spread of the week. However, the betting public isn’t expecting an epic blowout, as just over 50% of spread bets are taking the points and expecting the 1-10 Lobos to cover.

Fresno State 17% 8.0 7.5 In yet another hugely lopsided bet game, more than eight out of ten spread wagers are going with the 7-4 Aztecs to cover at home, even though the sportsbooks adjusted their lines to give road dog Fresno an additional half-point.
