Week 8 NFL Line Movement: New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys

Sunday at 4:25PM, another chapter will be added to one of football’s most storied rivalries when the Giants (5-2) travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys (3-3). These two NFC East foes have already met once this season with the Cowboys pulling out a 24-17 victory in week 1.

Perhaps because of this previous win, Dallas opened as a 1.5-point favorite at CRIS. However, early money poured in on the road dog with the Giants receiving 84% of spread bets. This heavy influx of public money has moved the line significantly with New York now listed as a 1.5-point favorite.

This 3-point line movement seems to be based solely on square bettors, which has created value on the hometown Cowboys. It’s also interesting to note that the ‘Boys currently fit our popular 80/20 NFL Betting System in which underdogs receiving less than 20% of spread bets have won 57% of the time since 2003.

The line history chart below depicts the public betting data and early line movement on this game from the Cris sportsbook.
